As escolhas que fazemos nos definem? Somos o resultado delas, ou elas resultam do que somos? Na política, elas dão caráter a quem as leva ao palco. Ou, enfim, revelam.
É uma verdade os resultados práticos do pragmatismo político, aquele que dá objetivo, em vez de sentido, a um caminho escolhido. Quem se mostra à esquerda, colhe seus frutos. O da direita, também. E ambos precisam lidar com o ônus do posicionamento. Na conveniência das estratégias ou colheita de resultados, o político se forma, quando não se derrota.
É verdade também que, idealmente, não deveria ser assim o mundo. A construção de uma sociedade melhor deveria ser o norte, em vez da associação de causas pessoais. O amadurecimento pessoal pelas ideias, pela alteridade, pelo espírito público e a alma social cristã (porque o bem do outro é divino), isto deveria prevalecer sobre o ganho financeiro e a conquista de poder – poder cada vez mais.
O indivíduo pode até se apresentar como coletivo, como portador do sonho e da realização de todos. Pode se arvorar a oposição encarnada do atraso e da decepção daquele que tem tudo para fazer e não faz a contento da maioria. Quando vemos este palanque armado, vemos também os aplausos que sustentam o corpo carregado em ombros e o alvo representativo de uma gente, a gente que somos nós cidadãos.
Quem escolhe o respeito às instituições, à democracia, à ciência, ao justo e bom denodo da prevalência do Estado laico ante o Estado fundamentalista, tem uma direção para a vida, a sua e a do outro. Quem escolhe o combate ao mal indefinido com verdades mentirosas, a destruição de valores e leis em nome de leis e valores que atendem à minoria arvorada em armada divina, também tem uma direção. Qual leva ao abismo? Qual verdadeiramente salva a Nação e sua essência?
Em todo caso, sabemos, a escolha que importa não é a que está no palco ou palanque, mas que que dá sustento e elege quem está lá. As teorias de Estado, as visões de vida, as práticas que importam, essas coisas não se definem sozinhas. Elas são fruto do que desejamos, ainda que confundamos os horizontes almejados no buraco das urnas. Faz parte. Só que o olho que se fecha quando piscamos não é o mesmo que vive cego. Quando o sujeito é o verbo?
Na eleição para governador deste ano em Goiás, o que estará em jogo não são as jogadas, apenas, de Ronaldo Caiado (União Brasil), Gustavo Mendanha (sem partido), Marconi Perillo (PSDB) e Wolmir Amado (PT). Elas produzirão seus resultados, como sempre. Porém importa dizer que o que estará posto diante de nós é mais: aonde vamos parar? A qual porto futuro queremos chegar?
Não há escolha perfeita, como não há nome absoluto. Ainda bem, para o bem do regime que nos permite ser livres inclusive para a discordância em tese e na prática. A escolha pode ser a travessia. Penso que Caiado, político de direita, pode ter os votos da esquerda, da centro-esquerda e de parte do centro. Gustavo, político que anuncia o abraço a presidente Jair Bolsonaro, de extrema direta especialmente, pode ter os votos destes e, quem sabe, dos que vão em direção ao centro.
Marconi é uma incógnita, a começar pela definição de qual cargo dispuratá: ex-governador quatro vezes, está em baixa nas pesquisas depois de ser preso, no entanto mostra fôlego, e ninguém sabe se é ‘suspiro ou ressuscito’. Wolmir Amado, homem da igreja e com formação na esquerda, pode ter os votos da esquerda e, quem sabe, dos que vão no caiminho do centro. A questão: Lula ajuda quem? Bolsonaro ajuda? Quem? Quem eles atrapalham, em possível polarização nacional? Ou, como já se viu, o nacional não afeta o estadual?
Cenários possíveis. Se a eleição para presidente for, digamos, plebiscitária (palavra que não define bem o todo mas serve ao propósito aqui), Bolsonaro X Lula, e se refletir por aqui, quem escolherá Caiado, Gustavo, Marconi, Wolmir? Melhor dizente: quantos ficarão com um e outro, com base ou independente da guerra que já virou contrapondo bolsonaristas e lulistas? Quem ganhar mais com os posicionamentos de lado, em Goiás?
Não há escolha difícil. Há escolhas. Vidas ou mortes.
