Um prefeito pode ajudar seus aliados e companheiros de várias formas numa campanha, duas em especial: fazendo uma boa gestão para ser então um bom cabo eleitoral, ou… você sabe. Se a gestão não vai vai bem, ou vai beeem mais ou menos, a alternativa ‘você sabe’ fica mais forte e escancarada. E a conta, mais alta para a população e para o próprio prefeito.
Se o prefeito resolve, numa dessas eventualidades da vida, lançar sua esposa, a primeira-dama, como candidata, a coisa se complica. Ele inevitavelmente terá de mostrar que faz uma boa gestão e ter cuidado com o flancos expostos. Porque os seus adversários estão sempre à espreita. Um vacilo, uma negociação malfeita, uma ponta solta na vida familiar, tudo vira alvo.
Fora que entra na mira, o prefeito tem que se preocupar com outra coisa. Para a primeira-dama, o ‘você sabe’ não funciona. Ou seja: ele tem que ir a campo e colocar a mão na massa mesmo, e isso enquanto negocia com os companheiros e aliados ressabiados com a candidatura dela (privilegiada, como não?), e se protege dos inimigos de plantão.
O problema: caso a primeira-dama não seja eleita, o desastre está feito. O prefeito sai de derrotado. Pode sair também de casamento abalado, de gestão comprometida com a mágoa e o ressentimento – dele, em relação aos que não a apoiaram; dela, em relação aos mesmos e, quem sabe, ao marido, que se empenhou pouco, na visão dela.
Não adianta ser prefeito, é preciso participar da campanha com inteligência e muita atenção aos detalhes. Detalhes como companheiros e aliados insatisfeitos dentro e fora da administração. Eles vão carregar a mensagem da administração e das candidaturas, em especial da candidatura da primeira-dama. Irritados, desprestigiados, ignorados, cada um vira um veículo de comunicação em potencial, pregando contra, e não a favor.
O prefeito precisa pensar bem no que está fazendo. No que está deixando seus assessores fazerem. No que estão todos deixando de fazer. No que há por ser feito, mas que não é feito por picuinhas e falta de estratégia. O fardo de uma gestão que não se apresenta devidamente, de uma campanha que atrai apenas críticas e ataques, é pesado e só o prefeito, no fim das contas, carrega.
Um ponto vulnerável quando a primeira-dama é candidata: familiocracia. Uso do poder em benefício próprio. E se somar a esta conta as contas outras de outras familiares, como filhos que não foram eleitos que que se sentem eleitos pelo Rei, aí a caçarola quebra o cabo.
Prefeitos, quando lançam candidatos, e mais que tudo quando lançam suas esposas candidatas, tornam-se inevitavelmente candidatos também. A eleição de hoje é a sua reeleição amanhã. Um vacilo e a derrota vem por antecipação. Olho na equipe, sempre. E olho vivo nos sinais que a vida envia com larga comunicação de óbito à vista. Não perdem por esperar.
Só mais uma coisa. Um político, quando perde, no mais das vezes não perde apenas a eleição. Perde a reputação – e a compostura da vida privada. Quem avisa… você sabe.
